Lefkada is now based on the Ignition Framework

The new version of Lefkada based on our Ignition Framework is now live.  Lefkada is a modern stylish theme specially crafted with small businesses in mind to give them the ability to create a clean and professional website to solidify their online presence.

The Ignition Framework

First a quick overview of the Ignition Framework on which Lefkada is based on. It comes in the form of an independent plugin which bundles all the required templates and functionality needed to make the site work. This leaves the theme with just one simple job, to make everything look great. This separation makes framework based themes very easy to work with and customize due to the lack of clutter added by non-theme related functionality. The plugin is shared across all framework based themes which means that all required compatibility, security and feature updates can be patched quickly in a single point and pushed to all themes instantaneously.

Now let’s move on to some key theme features.

Customization

All theme options are baked in the WordPress Customizer. This provides you with a very familiar interface through which you can fine tune the appearance of your site. Create new color schemes by using the dozens of built in color options, pick your favorite Google Fonts to better match your site’s typography with your brand, modify the site’s layout by moving or toggling the sidebars, change the location of your logo, use fullwidth, split or sticky menus and many more to achieve the best possible outcome for your business’ new site.

Global Sections

The Global Section custom post type in Lefkada allows you to easily create pieces of content which can then be displayed in more than 20 key theme locations, eliminating completely the need for duplicated code. Utilize them to create call to actions, banners, display social feeds and more to capture your audience’s attention. The content for a global section can either be created using the block editor or your preferred page builder.

Performance

A modern website can’t just look good, it needs to be snappy and responsive as well. To help you achieve this we have built our new framework with performance in mind. No unnecessary assets are loaded at any point. All styles and scripts are served minified and packed where possible and third party integrations do not load unless the affected plugin is present and active on the site.

A great mobile experience

All Ignition Framework themes are designed and built on real devices not just emulators. This allows us to offer the best experience possible for mobile and desktop users alike.

WooCommerce Ready

Lefkada supports WooCommerce out of the box. You can sell anything in style from physical products, to digital downloads, tickets, subscription and more through an online store which perfectly matches the rest of your site. Customize your shop by choosing the best product listing layout, display alternative product images on listing pages, tailor the appearance of the single product’s gallery and more to better showcase your products.

Flexible content creation

For the theme’s demo we relied heavily on the WordPress block editor and custom blocks provided by our free GutenBee plugin. We tested the blocks extensively and applied styling where necessary to closely match them to the theme’s appearance. However if you prefer to build things visually you can do so with any of the most popular page builders out there like Elementor, Beaver Builder and more.

Easy to get started

We want everyone to be able to get up and running with their new site as fast as possible. To help with that we have incorporated a helpful onboarding page and built in one-click demo importing functionality. Additionally all framework based themes will soon get variations which will allow the user to modify the layout and appearance of the theme with just a couple of clicks to better accommodate different niches.
